he Triads is Zwitser’s philosophical life’s work and comprises four books and a series of online interviews with thinkers from around the world. In Zwitser’s philosophy, triads are the only great counterforce to modernity, but in our time in the West they are under greater pressure than ever. These Triads are the soul, marriage, community and God. In this first part of four books, a concise description of both the triads and modernity is vividly elaborated. Zwitser takes you on a journey through metaphysics, love, urban planning and religion.

Now that we in the West are on the threshold of a world state that is being enforced with all possible efforts, by supranational institutions and organisations, the problems we are facing as western nations are greater than ever. The non-Western half of the world has already dropped out, but the question is: will we also succeed in forcing this megalomaniacal project to a halt within the West?

(The Triads is translated in Dutch as well: Heerlijke platte wereld)

“The most idiosyncratic project I have ever had the privilege of supervising: a wild and broadly informed attack on modernity, rich in stimulating insights.”

— prof. Ad Verbrugge (VU Amsterdam)

On Permafrost:

“The Cold War did not end in 1989 but continues to this day as a desperate struggle by the globalised liberal order against the last defenders of tradition, borders and culture. Its main front line is civil society; its most important weapon is ‘permafrost’, a mixture of collective, self-idealising narcissism and political, social and moral mass manipulation.
This is the central thesis of Tom Zwitser’s lucid, disillusioning yet intriguing and provocative book. It is required reading for anyone seeking answers to the many crises of the West, beyond the limits of politically correct morality.”

— prof. David Engels (VU Brussels)
